Children Watch Foundation (CWF) presented its research titled “Urbanization in DNCC and DSCC: A Comprehensive Evaluation” at the meeting on “Integrated Environmental Management: Forests, Environment, Rivers and Urbanization,” held at the National Press Club, Dhaka, on 17 May 2026.
The research highlighted key challenges associated with rapid and unplanned urbanization in Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) and Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) and its implications for the environment, urban liveability, and future generations.
The discussion emphasized that unplanned urban growth is becoming an increasing concern for Dhaka and requires coordinated action among government institutions, urban planners, researchers, civil society, and communities.
Through the research presentation, CWF called for greater attention to planned and environmentally responsible urban development, stressing that collective action is essential to build a safer, healthier, and more sustainable city for present and future generations.
