CWF Pathsala Students Lead Tree Plantation Drive on World Environment Day 2025 in Satkhira
On June 5, 2025, Children Watch Foundation (CWF) observed World Environment Day with a meaningful tree plantation program at CWF Pathsala in Satkhira. This year’s celebration carried a profound message: empowering children especially those deprived of their basic rights to education, health, and hygiene to take action for a greener and healthier future. The event brought together pre-school and primary-level students from marginalized communities, many of whom have limited access to formal education. Guided by their teachers and CWF staff, the young learners enthusiastically planted saplings in and around the Pathsala premises, transforming their surroundings into a more vibrant and environmentally friendly space. As small hands worked the soil and carefully placed the young trees, the activity became more than just a plantation drive. It was a hands-on lesson in environmental stewardship, instilling in the children a sense of responsibility and ownership towards nature. One of the students expressed their excitement, saying, “We planted trees so our area will have more shade and clean air. I will take care of my tree every day.”

A CWF representative reflected on the significance of the initiative: “At CWF, we believe environmental education is an essential part of a child’s growth. These children are not only learning to plant trees; they are becoming change-makers and role models for their communities. It’s inspiring to see their commitment to protecting the environment.” The programme also engaged parents and local residents, encouraging them to support the children’s efforts by nurturing the planted saplings and adopting eco-friendly practices in their daily lives. This initiative forms part of CWF’s wider commitment to holistic child development integrating education, health, hygiene, and environmental awareness. As the saplings grow and flourish, they stand as living symbols of hope, resilience, and the transformative power of collective action led by children.
