The Certification and Recognition Ceremony for the Youth Leadership Development Workshop 2026 marked a significant milestone in empowering young women through leadership, skill-building, and social awareness initiatives. Organized by Children Watch Foundation (CWF) under its Women’s Equity and Action Wing, in collaboration with Green Voice and Bahnishikha, the event celebrated the successful completion of a transformative 3-day mentorship wo rkshop by the CWF Scholar Team where about 27 students from 3 distinct institutes name University of Dhaka, Eden Women’s’ College and Begum Badrunnesa Government Women’s College have completed the workshop.
Held on Monday, April 20, at the Women Voluntary Association Auditorium, Road 27, Dhanmondi, Dhaka, the program brought together aspiring young women from diverse universities and colleges. The workshop and subsequent ceremony were designed with the aim of fostering youth leadership, enhancing professional competencies, and increasing social awareness among participants.
The event commenced with the national anthem, setting a respectful and inspiring tone. This was followed by a series of engaging segments, including presentations that highlighted the learning journey of the participants, reflections where attendees shared their personal experiences and growth, and the formal distribution of certificates and recognition awards. The event concluded with a vibrant cultural program, adding a celebratory dimension to the occasion.
The ceremony was presided over by Shah Israt Azmery, Chairman of CWF, and was skillfully hosted by Humayun Kabir Sumon, Co-founder of Green Voice. In her speech, Shah Israt Azmery emphasized the organization’s evolving vision. She noted that while CWF initially focused on children, it soon recognized the importance of engaging youth as a crucial bridge in the lifecycle of human development. She highlighted that youth represent continuous renewal and potential, and that age should never be a barrier to growth and contribution.
The event was further enriched by the presence of distinguished guests. The chief guest, Anisur Rahman Talukdar Khokon, Honorable Member of Parliament, the Government of People’s Republic of Bangladesh, delivered an inspiring speech focusing on personal development. He highlighted the importance of patience, self-confidence, and perseverance in achieving success. Encouraging the participants to remain steadfast in their goals, he advised them to overcome negativity and stay committed to their aspirations. He also expressed that while not all desires may be fulfilled immediately, consistent effort eventually leads to meaningful outcomes. He concluded by recommending that such impactful workshops be expanded on a larger scale.
As a special guest, Mohammad Mozammal Hoque, Company Secretary (Joint Secretary), Bangladesh Services Limited, underscored the critical role of young people in driving societal change. He stressed the importance of public speaking and effective communication skills, noting that students are the architects of the future.
Overall, the event stood as a powerful testament to CWF’s commitment to nurturing youth leadership and empowering young women. By combining mentorship, recognition, and cultural expression, the program not only celebrated achievements but also inspired participants to become proactive leaders and change-makers in their communities.
