Discussion Meeting and Gift Distribution Program

The Children Watch Foundation (CWF) successfully organized a Discussion Meeting and Gift Distribution Program for underprivileged children from the Baroikhali, Balur Math, and Vagolpur areas of Dhaka City at 4 PM on 2 February 2026, with the objective of promoting awareness on children’s education, health, and social safety while providing direct humanitarian support to marginalized communities. The program created a supportive and inclusive space where key child-related issues were discussed alongside practical assistance, reinforcing the importance of collective responsibility in safeguarding children’s rights and well-being.

As part of the initiative, blankets donated by the Department of Social Services, Government of Bangladesh were distributed among the children to help them cope with seasonal hardships. Approximately 50 underprivileged children received gifts directly into their hands, making the event both impactful and emotionally significant for the beneficiaries. The distribution symbolized compassion, dignity, and solidarity with vulnerable families living in urban low-income settlements.

The event was honored by the presence of Abu Sayed Md. Kawsar Rahman, Deputy Director, District Social Services Office, Dhaka, and Mohammad Asiquzzaman, Assistant Director (Discipline & Investigation), Department of Social Services, Agargaon, Dhaka, whose participation highlighted the government’s commitment to child protection and social welfare. Their remarks emphasized the importance of collaboration between government agencies and civil society organizations to ensure inclusive social safety nets for disadvantaged children.

The program was further enriched by the presence of Mrs. Meherunnesa, Headmistress of Rayerbazar High School, Hosne Ara Rafeza, Secretary of Bostibashi Odhikar Surokha Committee, Md. Zahangir Alam, Urban Research Coordinator, BARCIK, and Shah Israt Azmery, Chairman of Children Watch Foundation. The speakers collectively underscored the critical role of education, community engagement, and rights-based approaches in improving the lives of underprivileged children. Overall, the event reflected CWF’s continued dedication to child welfare, social justice, and community empowerment through meaningful dialogue and tangible support.
