A scholarship was awarded to the indomitable talent Minarzim, who scored an A+ in the SSC exam despite incredible hardships. The scholarship money was handed over to Minarzim and his parents in a ceremony held at the Fulbari Press Club.
His mother, Halima Begum, expressed her overwhelming gratitude, saying, “We were worried about arranging the money for my son’s admission, but this help has solved our problem. This support feels like five lakh taka to us.” Fighting back tears, she added, “I want to raise my son to be a good human being. Please keep us in your prayers and continue your support.”
Minarzim, a resident of Purvodhaniram village in Barovita Union, Fulbari Upazila, Kurigram, is the son of physically challenged Moniruzzaman and Halima Begum. Despite the family’s struggles, he excelled in his studies and achieved an A+ from Barovita Multilateral High School in the SSC exams.
His father’s inability to work forced Minarzim to take up daily labor to support his family. With the help of his teachers, he continued his education. His story was highlighted in a news article published by Khoborer Kagoj.
After the story came to light, Khoborer Kagoj Bandhujon, a reader association, and Children Watch Foundation (CWF) stepped forward to support Minarzim. They provided him with a one-time scholarship of 5,000 taka.
The event was attended by Khoborer Kagoj’s Kurigram correspondent Golam Mowla Siraj, Fulbari Press Club President Emdadul Haque Milon, General Secretary Khalilur Rahman, senior journalist Shahinur Rahman Shahin, and others. Minarzim’s parents, Halima Begum and Moniruzzaman, were also present.
