About Us

Introduction

The Children Watch Foundation (CWF) is an autonomous, non-profit philanthropic organization that was founded with philanthropic contribution of family property. Initially the donations were also received from relatives, friends and well-wishers.

The CWF intends improving the living standard of disadvantaged individuals those are impacted by climate change or socio-economic adversity. The foundation is focusing its efforts for achieving economic empowerment, making the society free from hunger, widening the access to education, addressing internal migration related issues, adopting climate change and building a resilient society ensuring equality and inclusiveness.

Inspiration of the CWF

The CWF was established with the great inspiration and enthusiasm of Late Shah Akram Hossain. He had a dream to make the society knowledgeable by providing quality education. To transform his noble dream into reality, after his departure, the fund of the CWF was sourced from his property.

Late Shah Akram Hossain, the man who believed girls have equal rights to achieve success in every field. They can do everything like other people. Daughters are the blessing of Almighty for the betterment of a family and society as well. Thus, he always tried to ensure education for all girls and for that purpose, established a college at his own village. The fund of the organization was also run by his property after his death to translate his dream for the equity and rights for children.

Overview of the Organization

The Foundation started its journey through the inception of an educational support program in 2018. Initially, it provided stationeries (mainly books and copies) and some stipends for the poor children and transport to and from school in Haor region at Tahirpur Upazila in Sunamganj district to reduce the school dropout rate especially in post-flood period. Gradually, the foundation extended its contribution to health and environmental awareness programs.

The education program focuses on building a future citizen who is socially responsible and encouraged to make a difference through their voice and leadership. A culture of fostering and valuing our rich tradition, they will contribute to meeting future challenges in national and global context.

Mission

The mission of Children Watch Foundation is to develop an educated and enlightened generation, enhance people’s health especially children, and promote environmental quality and adapt with climate change.

The vision of Children Watch Foundation is building an enlightened generation providing educational support, creating an environmentally sound and equipped resilient society to adapt with climate change and enhance people’s health.

Goals

The main goals of the Foundation are to help poor communities, protect the environment, achieve the SDGs, and foster social and environmental responsibility among the society.

Aims and Objectives

The Foundation aims to promote environmental quality, enhance the health of urban squatter settlements and rural children, and adapt to climate change. It also strives to provide education access to impoverished children and raise public awareness on environmental degradation and climate change, emphasizing individual accountability.

Strategies for Work

The Children Watch Foundation believed that, by working together, it can achieve its vision of building an enlightened generation in the world where everyone has the equal opportunity to prosper.

This will involve collaboration between governments, corporate sectors, community, civil society, and individuals, as well as a commitment to tackling the core causes of these challenges. By concentrating on present bursting and burning issues on education, health, economic and climate change and working together, we can create a more just, equitable, and successful society for all.
